Margaret’s
House is a registered children’s home, established
in 1987 by the initiative of 5 Anglican churches. It accommodates
22 boys who are at risk of becoming street children.
Our mission is to provide an accessible and
caring service to the children of Cape Town, who are at risk
of becoming street children, by the provision of early intervention
services viz. an outreach programme in their communities
of origin for those who have fallen through the safety net,
whilst offering temporary residential care to those who need
protection, in an effort to reduce the number of children
found on the street.
Boys between the ages of 6 and 18 years attend local schools,
participate in arts and crafts, play in the parks, and attend
skills training.
We offer temporary residential care to those who need protection,
in an effort to reduce the number of children found on the
street.
Vision
To ensure that the needs
of poverty-stricken children, orphans, HIV-infected
and destitute children are met by a professional and
caring service.
